The back-and-sides of this guitar are made from Extreme-Flame Koa with a spectacular grain pattern. The soundboard is Curly Redwood, which also has a spectacular grain pattern and matches the color of the Koa. The 650mm-scale-length fretboard is Mesquite; the neck, heel & head block are FSC-Certified Mahogany; the bridge is Madagascar Rosewood; and the headplate and bindings are Curly Koa.
The soundboard purfling and rosette are Abalone; the peghead is inlaid by Craig Lavin Custom Inlays with my trademark “Sexy Modern Maui Girl” design; and the guitar is fitted with Fustero chrome-plated tuning machines with Faux Horn buttons.
Like all guitarmasterworks guitars, the soundboard uses my proprietary NO-BRACES design licensed from RainSong Graphite Guitars; RainSong calls the patented design Projection Tuned Layering™. The peghead uses my proprietary Rear String Slot design and the heel has my signature Abalone heelcap. The inside of the soundboard is signed, dated and numbered (#19) by me.
The guitar has a very strong and full tone and excellent clarity, and is set up for fast Spanish-style playing.
