The back-and-sides of this guitar are made of African Blackwood, which is the current wood-of-choice now that high-quality Brazilian Rosewood is nearly unobtainable. The result is a guitar with the traditional look of a rosewood guitar, coupled with the bright and powerful sound of my proprietary soundboard design.
The soundboard is Master-grade Sitka Spruce, and the 660mm-scale-length fretboard is Madagascar Ebony. The bridge and binding are Snakewood, the neck, heel & head block are Spanish Cedar, which is traditional for Spanish classical guitars. The peghead is African Blackwood, inlaid by Craig Lavin Custom Inlays with my "JAD" logo in abalone and a “Diamond Maui Girl™” design containing four small genuine diamonds.
The guitar is fitted with Sterling Silver Hauser-style David Rodgers tuning machines with Snakewood buttons. The peghead uses my proprietary Rear String Slot design. Like all guitarmasterworks guitars the soundboard uses my proprietary NO-BRACES design licensed from RainSong Graphite Guitars; RainSong calls the patented design Projection Tuned Layering™. The soundboard is inlaid with three Abalone dolphins in the upper bout and the heel has my signature Abalone heelcap. The inside of the soundboard is signed, dated and numbered (#14) by me.
The guitar has a very strong and full tone, and is set up with a low action for fast Spanish-style playing.
